USD 470-Arkansas City

The QuickMail server and service that has been in use by USD 470 for the past 18 years is being replaced by a more robust system that will, in the future, allow the staff member to have access to file storage, web based email, calendaring systems, and voice mail. The new system will be released October 1, still with the usd470.com domain as we have used for many years. All addresses will remain in place, but now all employees will have access to the system because of the unlimited user accounts available. Any staff member can be reached using the address format " This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it " and mailing lists are being developed to simplify contacting large groups of staff members.

Calendaring systems are expected to be available prior to January 2009. Voice Mail systems will be available with the bond supported update and upgrade of the phone systems in all schools. The estimated time completion for this project is August 2009.
