Reach All. Teach All.

Welcome to English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Title III. ESOL services are made available to students who come from home environments in which the native language is other than English.

Vision Statement

Our vision is for all educators to work together to ensure student success, engage effectively with families and value the linguistic and cultural assets that ELL students and their families bring to our schools.

Program Philosophy

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program assists English Language Learners (ELLs) to become successful in their education by providing scaffolding to help them reach academic levels that are similar to their English-speaking peers.

The ESOL program also provides professional development, resources, and classroom support to teachers. We also provide families with a liaison to the school community.

Program Objectives

  • To teach students both social and academic English
  • To assist in students’ cultural adjustment by creating awareness of cultural patterns of American life
  • To promote pride in students’ native language and cultural traditions
  • To provide emotional support to ELLs
  • To act as a liaison between the home, school, and community
  • To provide in-service knowledge to classroom teachers of ELLs regarding the philosophy, teaching methods, and techniques used in working with ELLs
  • To serve as an advocate for ELLs in all phases of their education
