Welcome to the official social media pages of Arkansas City Public Schools.

Our social media pages are here to keep families, students, staff, and our community informed about what's happening across USD 470. We share school news, celebrate student and staff achievements, highlight programs and events, and provide important district updates.

We welcome respectful questions and conversation. To help create a positive and informative space for everyone, we ask that all participants follow the guidelines below.

Comment Guidelines

We encourage respectful discussion and value a variety of viewpoints. To help keep our pages welcoming and productive, we ask that comments:

  • Stay respectful and courteous.
  • Remain related to the original post.
  • Protect the privacy of students, families, and staff.
  • Avoid sharing personal or confidential information.

Comments posted by users do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of Arkansas City Public Schools.

Comments We May Hide or Remove

USD 470 reserves the right to hide or remove comments that:

  • Include profanity or obscene language.
  • Contain personal attacks, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or threats.
  • Include confidential or personally identifiable information about students or staff.
  • Name or target individual students or employees in a way that violates their privacy or could reasonably be considered defamatory or harassing.
  • Promote commercial products, services, political campaigns, or spam.
  • Include false or misleading information that could create confusion or pose a safety concern.
  • Are substantially unrelated to the original post or repeatedly disrupt productive discussion.
  • Violate applicable laws or the social media platform's Community Standards or Terms of Use.

Repeated or serious violations may result in a user being blocked from the district's social media accounts.

Student Privacy

To help protect student privacy, please do not post phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, student identification information, medical information, or other personal information about yourself or others in comments.

Questions or concerns involving a specific student or employee should be directed to the appropriate school or district office rather than discussed on social media.

Comments and Direct Messages

In accordance with Kansas law and district policy, USD 470 employees do not use social media comments, direct messages, or other private messaging features to communicate directly with current students.

Because it can be difficult to determine whether a person interacting with a district social media account is a current student, USD 470 does not respond to comments or direct messages on social media.

Social media accounts may still be used to share district and school information. If you have a question, need assistance, or would like to contact a staff member, please contact your child’s school, use a district-approved communication method, or contact the district office at 620-441-2000 or info@usd470.com.

Emergencies

Our social media pages are not monitored continuously and should not be used to report emergencies or urgent safety concerns.

If you have an emergency, call 911. For school-related emergencies or urgent concerns, please contact the appropriate school or district office directly.
